Hey Josh, sorry for the delay with writing this review.
Our bore was a mess - pump, piping, material ingested and electrical issues. An accurate quote was provided, the work was completed in a very professional manner and we knew when Josh was going to arrive on site to undertake the scheduled work. Josh made several visits to ensure that the work he undertook was effective and compliant. My curiosity meant that I was always looking at the work being undertaken and even that did not distract Josh. He also has a great memory for details. When there appeared to be an issue with with sand being sucked into the spear and impacting the check valves, Josh had an answer. He was very honest and advised that this remedy "may" not work and could require that the bore would need to revert to a submersible pump, to overcome that issue. Thankfully, that was not required. In summary my experience with Advantage Bores and Josh has been that they are; on time, accurate, professional, system holistic and friendly. The bore is working a treat and the garden is starting to recover from the period when it wasn't being watered. Thank you, Josh.

After receiving a water bill for 3 times my normal amount I noticed my reticulation was dripping non stop and called Advantage Bores & Retic who responded the next day. The trade people who responded were friendly and professional and left the site clean and tidy which impressed my wife no end. WA water refunded 50% of my bill after receiving a claim supported by documents from Advantage Bores & Retic.

I was having problems with Pressure from my bore and tried a few companies that didn’t really help the situation, I was given Josh’s number for Advantage Bores and he was able to tell me straight away my problems and fix’s. We found a leak in our retic on a Saturday morning, which meant we had to have the water turned off, after many calls we finally found Josh at Advantage bores and reticulation services. He gave me advice on what to do over the phone and I managed to fix the problem myself, saving a huge call out fee. I can’t thank him enough . I would recommend him to anyone with retic problems.

Josh came out to what we thought was a Retic box issue, but it turned out to me more, it was actually a new bore motor we needed and to have it raised. Josh was upfront regarding the pricing and what work needed to be done. Once all fixed he referred Jeff to us to check all the reticulation/sprinklers were working properly and the water pressure is now great. Our bore stopped pumping 2 weeks before we were off on a caravanning holiday. Middle of heatwave. I called Josh n he responded almost immediately and within 2 days was on site diagnosing the problem. Josh installed a new bore pump in 2020 and gave excellent service.
Josh replaced the old retic. controller in 2022 with the same good service.

I didn't get alond with josh. He did not spend time to chat because he does not like wasting his clients money. He did fix the my error that other bore people could not the workmanship was very quick but it would be nice if he spent some more time chatting about my issues first.

Hi Meredith. I'm a little disappointed with this review to be honest. You told me that you'd paid 4 other contractors to fix your bore. According to our discussion all 4 contractors charged a few hundred dollars each and were unable to repair the fault. I have fixed the problem, and it is working very well but you'd prefer that I waste some time on site. As discussed on the phone, I value my customer's time and money. I refuse to spend 20 minutes chatting about something and wasting your money. I'm glad the problem is rectified and your Bore i finally working well. Take care.

My Bore pump failed. I called Josh out to help. I wasn't aware at the time that we could claim against our insurance if we used a licensed tradesperson. Josh was very very helpful and the new pump only cost us our insurance excess. The sprinklers have never worked better. Thanks Josh

I first used Josh of Advantage Bores in 2016. I had inherited a bore and reticulation system in need of help; the pump wasn’t working, the timer/control panel had an intermittent fault, and a solenoid had failed., Josh repaired the whole system, also testing that all sprinklers were working correctly. His pricing was fair and his workmanship efficient. Since that time, whenever I have reticulation issues, Josh is my “go to” expert. Last year he replaced the pump, and this year repaired pipes and sprinklers that had been damaged by a vehicle being driven across my verge, and also damage to pipes caused by tree roots. Josh is a very personable, honest and trustworthy man, and in these days of “cowboy” tradies, is a delight to deal with. I recommend him unreservedly.

Due to outdoor renovations my retic has been in a somewhat sad state for some time.
Nathan attended my property, he was extremely helpful, friendly and very professional. The reticulation system was serviced (long overdue) and sprinklers replaced with new and more efficient pop ups. He also re-wired the controller. Great to have the bore working again, especially as heatwave conditions are now upon us!

Josh was quick to respond to our request to look at our bore system. The old bore, well over 40 years old, was beyond redemption and inaccessible to lift out. The solution was to drill another bore, install a new pump, upgrade the electrics and tee into the existing sprinkler system. The work was carried out satisfactorily by Josh and his crew and I will certainly recommend Advantage Bores to friends and acquaintances if they need help with their bore.

After 39 years in operation, our bore started pumping sand and failed completely on the last day of autumn which gave us a window of 3 months to get the system operating again. While the fix was not an urgent job, Josh and his team were quick to respond and soon had the replacement bore going. Quite difficult to get my head around drilling in our recently renovated and landscaped garden, along with electrical and plumbing installation on new walls and paving next to the house.

Our Bore pump burnt out mid January and I found & chose Advantage Bores ad in the local paper. What we liked about Josh is that he knows his stuff and is up front and direct. There was no getting away from the fact that the submersible pump was burnt out. I recently had to replace my submersible pump. Josh advised the best outcome for me. He was overrun with work but eventually got the work done to my satisfaction. His knowledge of reticulation also helped me alter my sprinkler system as well as replacing my controller which was faulty.

In the great scheme of things, probably not that big of a job for Josh. But he took the time to come out, replace the control panel for the reticulation, (something I'd wanted to do for a while, but didn't want to spend the money until it became neccesary... It became neccesary!).

He also found some other dohicky thingy that was broken and installed wrong/illegally, so replaced that as well.

Would have no hesitation whatsoever in recomending Josh and Advantage Bores to anyone.

I used Mr Josh to fix my water bore pump. First time I did not use him because I used a cheaper quote but the cheaper man did not fix it good. I called Mr Josh to come back and fix after the cheap man and now it is working much better than ever.

In 2014 Josh replaced an old bore on my property in Bull Creek. His initial response was quick - he was there to assess the problem on the same day I called. He recommended extending the use of the new bore and replaced the control box - all completed within one week. I then called him again in February this year (in a very hot week)- he replaced the power source and my sprinklers were back on - again as quickly as he was able. Josh is a top operator who provides a top service.

Josh recently installed a bore for us on Williams road, Melville. We had previously had 3 different drillers attempt 5, thats right 5 holes in our front lawn.

Josh came through with the goods. Drilled our bore on his first attempt and had the entire job including electrics completed in less than 2 days.

At 1am we had a broken water pipe in our roof. I called a plumber who charged $600 for 15 minutes & said he couldnt fix it because it was reticulation and not plumbing. He left the water leaking.

I called Josh & he was out in no time. He disconnected the pipework & also found the previous owner had illegally connected our reticulation to the wrong side of the water meter. Thats why we couldnt shut the water off.

Our home was still wrecked by the water damage but when Josh stopped the leak, he saved most of our personal belongings from being ruined.

Josh your knowledge & the setup of your trailer & equipment is the most professional I have seen.

I still tell everybody out your service.

Even though they were very busy prior to Christmas Josh managed to squeeze me in after my bore packed up and I didn't notice until the lawn had died whilst trying to sell the property.

Our bore pump had been idle while we were renovating and when we started it the pump was fused. Many "opinions" over the phone of what it could be from potential service providers. Josh locked in a time was really knowledgeable of the area we live and some of the areas idiosyncrasies, replacing the pump testing the bore casing and delivered a faultless outcome.

Our bore pump stopped working so I called Advantage Bores which was advertised in the local Melville Times. Josh was busy but said he'd squeeze us in. A few months back I had inadvertently dug up some important wiring that worked the bore in my new veggie bed. No-one I rang about the issue was prepared to even come and look at it, and then I found Josh's ad in the local paper. Josh replaced our control box last week. We had a minor disagreement when 2 of my stations stopped working a few days later. I overreacted and left Josh a very degrading review on here which I am ashamed by. Josh called me to chat, explain and prove how the problem was a completely separate issue and how it could be fixed. It is now fixed and running beautifully and cost next to nothing to repair. Josh I am so sorry for my vicious words and overreacting and treating you like that. Unfortunately due to bad past experiences with other tradesman, I am always edgy. You have done a superb job at my house and I couldn't be happier. Make sure you call him. I first made contact with Advantage Bores via a community newspaper advert. I required two solenoids to be repaired as soon as possible as water restrictions had just been lifted. We have had an old centrifugal bore at our place for 30 years. had 10 plus businesses try and fix it. all of them charged between $400 and $1500 dollars each time and it was never fixed. Josh & Ben came out, cost us over $2000 with a brand new pump with all the bells and whistles and all that but its been fixed and working perfectly for months now. We had spent nearly 12k over 5 yrs trying to fix that Bore and were ready to put a new one down until Josh came along and convinced us not to waste the money on a new bore & he knew how to fix it. He still ran into problems but his knowledge is unreal. We had called him previously but were discouraged by the callout fee that he needs to charge to cover the costs of his vehicle & trailer to bring all of their equipment along. That decision was a big mistake and we should have contracted him to do the work 5 years ago.

My bore pump called it a day a couple of days before I flew to Melbourne...how inconvenient! I googled for someone local, Josh answered the call. He called me in Melbourne, keeping me up to date with progress of replacement, and a running guesstimate of costs. There was never any false promises or surprises, Josh was very up front about the issues with the bore and the costs involved. My bore has never worked so well. The pressure is fantastic!
